JCJ Law provides Family Law advice, guidance and McKenzie Friend support to people on low and middle incomes who are planning to represent themselves in the Family Court. John Craig has extensive experience working in Family Law as a McKenzie Friend, a Masters in Law, and an undergraduate degree in Housing Law.

- Disputes about children: support with Child Arrangements Orders, Specific Issue Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders, Parental Responsibility Orders and other disputes involving children.
- Injunctions: support relating to Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders and other Family Law injunctions.
- Care proceedings: guidance and practical support where a Local Authority is involved in proceedings concerning children.
- Divorce: support with divorce proceedings, financial remedies and appeals.
- Co-parenting: practical guidance where contact arrangements are breaking down or co-parenting has become difficult.
- Advice & support: guidance around Family Law procedures, paperwork, court processes and related practical issues.

## McKenzie Friend role

A McKenzie Friend supports someone who is representing themselves in court. JCJ Law can attend court and provide support, take notes, help organise case papers, provide guidance on procedure, help prepare for hearings, and explain what to expect. A McKenzie Friend cannot act as a solicitor, normally speak for you in court, sign documents on your behalf, or examine witnesses.
